Qualifications
- Age 14-19 (14 if you have at least one year of experience with the S.C.E.P., 16 if you do not)
- At least 2.5 GPA
- A history of positive interaction with children
- Ability and desire to work with children
- The ability to demonstrate responsible leadership and maturity
- The ability to give and follow directions
- Self motivated and hard working
- A proven proficiency of the chosen subject area
- Ability to teach classes of up to 40 people at a time
Job Description
- Create an extensive curriculum for each age group of the S.C.E.P. Should include, but is not limited to:
- Day-to-day, age appropriate, activities
- All materials needed
- Activities that are composed of at least 80% learning material
- Use innovative methods to instruct the class
- Be prepared to teach a one hour class four times a week, composed of all ages, that provides detailed aspects of the subject
- Create a presentation for the Talent Show/Parent Night
- Provide support for all staff (S.C.E.P. and year-round)
- Act as a Youth Leader when not teaching
- Complete any assignments given by the S.C.E.P. Directorial staff or the EOYDC Executive Director
- Interact with staff and program participants
- Model character attributes to all participants
