When I came to the EOYDC, I thought it was just another recreation center for kids to have fun. However, when I started to work here, I saw that it was much more than that. The EOYDC helps people of all ages to have fun and help them academically. I feel that the EOYDC is not like any other center that I have been to. At the EOYDC, everyone treats everybody like family. When I tell people the things that the EOYDC has done for me, they’re surprised because not many jobs will take you shopping or on trips to the movies, skating rink, etc. It makes me feel good to say that I work at a center that’s caring and friendly like the EOYDC. I feel if people come here, they will succeed because there are wonderful people here to encourage you. I really like that the EOYDC stands for more than just kids having fun. The Center helps people get GEDs, helps you with college, and more. I would never have known how much the EOYDC has to offer if I had never started working here. The EOYDC has inspired me to go to a California State College. It has taught me to socialize more with people whether you know them or not. My spirits are higher. I used to be shy, but when I started working here, I learned that being shy was not going to get me anywhere. I thank the EOYDC for helping me to get out of that shyness stage and help me meet more people. I always recommend my younger cousins to go to the EOYDC because I like how things are organized and how they help teens get jobs. Everyone I told about this job wants to work here.
