Kaira Burnett-Daily

My name is Kaira Burnett-Dailey and I dropped out of high school my senior year. By the time I turned 19, my main goal was to get my GED since I was a proud mother of one girl and had another on the way. I heard about EOYDC from a friend/neighbor that was attending to get his GED as well. Once I started going to class, my new goal became getting my GED before my second child was born. I shared this with my teacher, Ms. Anana, and she told me that if I concentrate and study hard that there was no way I couldn’t achieve this. My daughter and I would come to class everyday and get one-on-one help after class when it was necessary. By March, I was able to take the test and I passed the first time.

Without EOYDC, I wouldn’t have my GED. Without the encouragement of Ms. Anana and the help from all the staff, I wouldn’t have my GED. Now that I have it, I plan to attend community college and eventually graduate from law school.

Thanks, EOYDC!
