As the accountant for the East Oakland Youth Development Center, my job is to record, allocate and keep track of finances of the organization. I take care of the payroll for the independent contractors and make sure that the bills get paid on time. I also work with the payroll journal entries, bank reconciliations and record all cash donations to reflect the organization’s total donor revenue. Finally, I assist in preparing the yearly budget and provide financial statements and other fiscal information to auditors.
Being a single mom, I like the fact that EOYDC gives me the opportunity to bring my son to the Center after school. It gives me peace of mind knowing that he is in a safe environment and gets to enjoy all the programs and activities the Center has to offer our community.
