Inaugural Golden State Warriors Unsung Heroes Awards

Three Bay Area residents – Magen Clay, and Curt Yagi – were honored with the inaugural Golden State Unsung Heroes tonight at the team’s game against the Indiana Pacers at Oracle Arena. The Unsung Heroes Award is presented to local residents who go above and beyond to uplift their community by inspiring to help them reach their goals, and who strive daily to make their community a greater place.

The winners were presented their during a special on-court halftime presentation with President and COO Rick Welts and Legend Alvin Attles. Each recipient was presented with a plaque that read:“In sincere gratitude and deep appreciation of your outstanding contributions rendered to the community, we recognize your countless hours of distinguished service with this Unsung Heroes Award.”

Clay, a native of San Francisco, has worked for the last 11 years with the Boys and Girls Club of and currently serves as branch director. During that time she has dedicated her life to enabling and inspiring the children of the West Oakland community in an effort to help them realize their dreams while becoming self-sufficient and productive citizens.
